The sled run at Chäserrugg has two sections for a total of 5.9 km. Most people ride the funicular from Unterwasser to Iltios. Then sled over to the Espel-Stöfeli gondola and spend most of the day on the upper section of the sled run serviced by this gondola. This upper section is quite steep and exciting, better for older children and teens.
You can also keep sledding from Espel down to Unterwasser and ride the funicular back up. The lower section from Iltios to Unterwasser is milder and better for smaller children. If you just sled the lower section, the day pass is cheaper. But this lower section doesn’t always have enough snow and you have to wait longer to go back up the mountain because the funicular only goes about every 20 mins.
You'll need a ticket for the mountain transport to reach the sled runs. You can get a sledding day pass for just the lower section (Iltios) or both sections (Stöfeli).
Sled rental at Iltios sport shop at top of funicular.
