This winter hike starts at the base of the ski resort, no gondola required. The path heads up through the forest, crosses the ski hill once, then wraps around the mountain until you reach the Seebenalpsee lake.

At the lake, there's a restaurant there with a terrace overlooking the mountain peaks. We've also just had a picnic on a bench along the lake.

It's an uphill climb and takes some endurance, a good choice if you are looking for some fitness.

Hike: moderate • 2h30 • 7.1 km there & back • 290m up & down • see trail map

Cost: no gondola required, so hike is free / fees for parking or public transport to reach trail

Location: Flumserberg Tannenboden - See on map.
