This "Kinderhotel" in the alps is a great choice for families with kids under 12. They offer so many fun extras for kids that it's hard to describe them all.

They have a variety of room configurations to accommodate different family sizes with a wide range of amenities: family rooms with bunks for the kids, suites with a separate kids room and sitting rooms, as well as luxurious multi room suites with huge balconies, private sauna and hot tub, slide from the upstairs bedroom to the downstairs common room.

Their huge outdoor play area has slides, trampoline, swings, play construction zones, soccer field, go carts, mini carousel and more with fantastic mountain views. They also have animals to visit including bunnies, goats, llamas, and fish tanks.

For indoor play, they have fairytale playrooms, bouncy castles, and a sports room for floor hockey and other games.

The staff organizes fun activities for the children, including social games and story time. They also offer child care daily from 9 am - 9 pm, giving parents freedom to do some activities on their own.

Kids love the indoor and outdoor pools, with shallow splash pools for little ones and a waterslide. For adults, they have a wellness center with sauna, steam room, quiet lounge areas, and variety of indulgent spa treatments.

For meals, children have a separate dining room, where the buffet is served on a play train and they can eat on picnic tables with their siblings and friends. Meanwhile parents enjoy a nice meal nearby with a little more peace and quiet.

Many of my friends rave about their experience at this hotel, returning year after year in both summer and winter.

You'll pay more than a typical hotel for this experience. But everyone says it's worth it.

How to get there

This hotel is located in the car-free alpine village Braunwald.

To get there, you can drive or take a train to Linthal. Then ride a funicular train up the mountain.

It's a bit of a walk to the hotel. So you'll want to take one of the alpine taxis to the hotel with your luggage.
