The legendary and majestic tree of small cedar and big cedar known as "Kosugi no Oosugi" can be found in the Kamikawa area of Yama-Gun, Japan. It is estimated to be between 700 and 800 years old and stands at a height of around 20 meters. The tree's circumference is over 6 meters and branches span 17 meters. This impressive evergreen is thought to have sheltered people during a fierce snowstorm in ancient times, and its striking resemblance with the character Totoro in the popular anime 'My Neighbour Totoro' has made it renown as 'Totoro's Tree'. The tree is considered a natural monument and cultural heritage of the Kurikawa area and is dedicated to the mountain gods part of Japanese folklore.
