Akihabara Radio Kaikan is a buzzing 10-story commercial building located in the Akihabara district of Tokyo, Japan. It is renowned for its unique combination of electronics stores and otaku goods. The original 8-story building was opened in November 1962 making it one of the first high rise buildings in the area. In 2014 a new modern ten-level building replaced the original after growing concerns about the structural integrity of the building's aging facade. Today, Akihabara Radio Kaikan is bustling with activity as visitors browse the variety of stores that sell otaku products, from contemporary manga and figures, to retro anime collectibles. It is a must-see sight in this unique part of Tokyo.
