Jigokudani Monkey Park is a tourist attraction located in Yamanouchi, Japan. It is part of the Joshinetsu Kogen National Park and is known for its wild Japanese macaques, better known as “snow monkeys”. Visitors can witness hundreds of the macaques descending from the steep cliffs and forests nearby to enjoy the warm waters of the onsen (hotsprings). Despite the heavy snowfalls and chill of winter, the experience of seeing these famously friendly animals playing and bathing in the thermal water is fun for all who visit.
