Ryōan-ji is an ancient Zen temple located in Kyoto, Japan. It boasts one of the world's most iconic gardens, a kare-sansui (dry landscape) rock garden that has wowed visitors since its construction in the late 15th century. The iconic garden features fifteen carefully composed stones surrounded by white gravel that is raked daily by the temple's monks. Beyond the sacred stone garden lies the Kyoyochi Pond, cherry trees, and the Ryōan-ji Tsukubai, an inscribed water basin used for ritual purification. Come explore this fascinating landmark and experience the beauty and stillness it offers!
