Located in the Needles, the Slickrock Foot Trail is a great hike if you want to experience this lesser-visited district of Canyonlands National Park. While many of the hikes in the Needles are long, this 2.4 mile lollipop loop trail provides a taste of the rugged desert terrain with plenty of incredible views along the way.
The trail is well marked with cairns (no need to build new ones!), but it’s also helpful to carry a map. A good chunk of the trail traverses across slickrock, and the entire trail is exposed, so avoid hiking if severe weather is in the forecast. Storms can roll in quickly!
