Message from Sarah

I love a lake day and we spend most sunny days at one of the SUP friendly lakes in North Wales. So when I stumbled across this one that I had never heard of before I knew we had to go and check it out and boy oh boy what a banger this is!!

Here's what I loved about it...

Highlights:
❤️ A grassy beach perfect for little ones to play on
❤️ Shallow access to the lake (but does drop off a ledge - however life jackets are required)
❤️ You can launch your own SUPs and kayaks
❤️ Or you can hire them
❤️ A cafe on the lake and in the car park
❤️ Toilets at the carpark (portaloos at the lake)
❤️ Clear and clean water maintained by a sonar system in the lake
❤️ A Roman fort and Celtic village (this build is fascinating you can read more about it on their website)
❤️ Other activities for kids during the summer- cave painting (in caves) when we went
❤️ Lots of walks around the lake and to the Roman fort
❤️ Dogs are allowed

Things to be aware of:
> It is a 10 minute walk from the carpark to the lake beach (a shuttle for your boards is available most of the time)
> There is no parking charge but you do have to pay for entry to the park or launch/swim fees. However the park is community run and not for profit so all the funds get pumped back into the project.
