Porth Ysgo is a hidden gem on the Llyn Peninsula, tucked away from the crowds and perfect for a peaceful beach day. With its golden sand, pebble-strewn shores, and stunning waterfall, this secluded cove offers a tranquil escape. Plus, dogs are welcome, making it a great spot for a family day out by the sea.

Waterfalls are cool, but have you ever seen a waterfall on a beach? We have! And I highly recommend you do too! But you're gonna have to work for it. This stunning beach in its own right with turquoise waters, and rock pools for days... Add in an impressive single drop waterfall, some caves and a big chonk of mining history and you have a recipe for a great day out. But as with all the best things in life, you're gonna have to walk to find it! Most of the walk is through an abandoned manganese mining site, which means you'll find a few mine shafts during the walk down (great for keeping the kids entertained) It's less than 1km down to the beach but the last section is down a wooden staircase hugging the side of the cliff, which was spectacular on the way down but was a bit of a slog for the kids on the way back up.
