Llyn Padarn, Llanberis is one of my favourite lakes in North Wales - Not only is the surrounding scenery absolutely stunning (with views of Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa on a clear day) but the lake and car park are only a 3 minute walk from the high street - so if you come completely unprepared (like me) you can nip into town for lunch, coffees or even to stock up for a bbq and picnic by the lake.
There’s a lovely grassy bank by the lake where you can set up for the day (with toilets and a little playpark nearby) or you can venture down to one of the little pebble beaches dotted around the shore line just a short walk from the car park. Parking was £ for the day and we were able to park our large van right next to a grassy patch just meters from the lake - perfect for the kids to run around on while we cooked.
