Männlichen is a wonderful mountain destination in the Jungfrau region. Summer and winter. Standing at 2,343 meters (7,687 feet), it offers spectacular views of the surrounding peaks, including the famous mountain trio Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.
You can easily reach Männlichen from either Grindelwald or Wengen. If you’re coming from Wengen, take the aerial cableway for a quick 5-minute ride. This is a steep ascent, but the views along the way are truly rewarding. From Grindelwald, you can enjoy a scenic 20-minute gondola ride that also provides beautiful vistas.
Once you arrive at Männlichen, there are plenty of hiking trails to explore, ranging from easy walks to more challenging hikes. The Royal Walk is particularly popular, leading you to a viewpoint that offers incredible panoramas of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Seraina’s Tip: In summer, there’s an open-air double-decker gondola that goes up from Wengen, known as the Royal Ride. This unique experience allows you to enjoy the fresh mountain air and stunning views while riding on the roof of the gondola.
