The Lucerne-Interlaken Express is a scenic train journey that connects the cities of Lucerne and Interlaken, forming part of the renowned GoldenPass Line. Although this journey isn't the quickest way to travel between the two cities (travelling through Bern on the Intercity train is faster) I still recommend taking this trip as it's simply way more relaxing and more scenic.
This approximately 98-kilometer route takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes, offering passengers stunning views of crystal-clear lakes, charming villages, and impressive mountain landscapes. The train travels through the Brünig Pass, utilizing cogwheel technology to navigate the steep gradients.
Along the way, keep an eye out for Lake Lungern and Lake Brienz from your window. These lakes offer beautiful views that enhance your experience on this scenic route.
