Message from Tony Xia

When I visited the Arimura Lava Observation Deck, it felt like stepping into another world. The short trail leading up to the observation deck is surrounded by ashfall and lava rocks that have built up over thousands of years, making it a fascinating walk. What stood out to me was how well-prepared the entire area is, with helmets and tunnels in place in case of an eruption.

About:

Perched on a small hill in the middle of a lava field from the 1946 eruption, the observation deck offers breathtaking views of Sakurajima and Kinko Bay. Standing there, I could even hear distant rumbles from the volcano, which added an extra thrill to the experience.
