Little Hump Mountain is a great hike for adventurers of all skill levels, located in the Pisgah/Cherokee National Forests in North Carolina/Tennessee. A moderately challenging 13.6 mile out-and-back trail with multiple views along the way. This is part of the Appalachian Trail so you will likely run into through hikers. There are beautiful rhodedendrons and mountain laurel on this trail during mid June so keep that in mind when planning a trip.

The parking lot fills up quickly on the weekend at Carver's Gap. Dogs are welcome as long as they're leashed - so don't forget to bring your furry companion! There isn't a ton of water available on this trail (some can be found if you veer right from the Stan Murray Shelter). I recommend packing in a decent amount of water to be safe.

The bald can get incredibly windy at night so if you'd like some protection I'd recommend finding a campsite in the woods. Obviously the views are incredible from the tent but I didn't get much sleep that night due to high winds.

Additionally, this is bear country so never store food in or near your tent. Best option is to put it in a sack or bear bin and place at least 200 ft from your camp (tied in the tree if it's a sack).
