Öxarárfoss is a stunningly beautiful waterfall located within Þingvellir National Park in Southwest Iceland. Its crystal clear waters cascade over two rock drops of the Almannagjá Gorge, creating a spectacle that's not to be missed! Spend an afternoon here sightseeing and enjoying the view, as well as exploring the geological features that date back to when the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates were last separated. A perfect spot for nature lovers, visitors can expect picturesque views as snow often blankets the waterfall during winter months, making it a prime destination for photographers. Guests should keep an eye out for freezing pool surfaces, as these are ideal for ice climbing, though safety measures must be observed; it is advised to climb with experienced professionals. Öxarárfoss is definitely worth a visit - the views here simply cannot be beat!
