The Kurobe Gorge Trolley Train has stunning scenery and through a picturesque gorge. The bright orange train and staff are a nice feature itself which will make you snap a photo with the pretty mountain backdrop.

The train might not be running all the way to the top because of the recent earthquake but that is fine - you can jump off a Sasadaira Station and head to the outdoor onsen which I have also marked on the map.

Tip: Make sure to visit this one in autumn and go during the week while it's quiet. Watch out for the monkeys!
