Búðir is a small hamlet located within the municipality of Snæfellsbær in Western Iceland. It is known for being an idyllic destination surrounded by expansive lava fields and tall grasses on one side, and the rich blue of the sea lapping against a fair-coloured beach on the other. Home to Búðakirkja church, one of Snæfellsbær's most spectacular attractions, this tranquil hamlet was once a busy trading port. Today, it remains a popular tourist attraction, boasting 130 species of rare and protected flowers within its beautiful lava fields, not to mention stunning views of Faxaflói Bay and Hraunlandarif Reef. Visitors can explore Búðahraun and stay overnight at the charming country hotel, Hótel Búðir. There's no shortage of family-friendly activities here, making Búðir a perfect destination for anyone looking for a true taste of Icelandic nature!
