Hike
Hike
30-60m
Exploring this hidden gorge in the cliffs of south of the Snæfellsjökull glacier. This is a relatively quick stop but is so much fun to do. The hike has a slight incline up to the gorge and you will have to hop on some rocks to enter, so make sure to wear your water-resistant hiking boots. Inside, is a gorgeous area but that is just the beginning of your possible adventure.
If you do a little bit of "climbing" (not strenuous) over the watering flowing on the big rocks, you get to a small waterfall. If you plan to go farther, it is advised that you are an advanced hiker with water-resistant clothing and hiking boots with very good grip. It can get quite wet the farther in you go. I only recommend trying this during the summer. Sometimes, there can be quite a bit of snow during the winter.
