Visit the Laufás Turf House Museum and Heritage Site in North-Iceland, a beautiful gabled turf house which dates back to at least 1840. Step inside and explore this unique building method from the Settlement of Iceland. The thick turf walls provide incredible insulation, and you can discover relics from the 19th century like old clothes and handiwork tools used by inhabitants of the house. Visit the old white church next door and admire the beautifully carved pulpit dating back to 1698. Also, explore the secret garden behind Parliament in Reykjavik, designed by the son of the first minister of Laufás, who was laid to rest in that garden.
