Ljótipollur Lake is in the Landmannalaugar region. The crater is 1.5 kilometers in diameter. The crater filled with water from 1477. There are lots of trout. It takes 45 minutes to walk around it. It is possible to go up with a 4x4 to the crater but it is really necessary that your 4x4 is raised to avoid the stones. It is advisable to leave your car at the intersection of the F225 (Landmannalaugar) and 208 and finish on foot. It takes 30 min (2km) from the intersection to get to the crater.
