The Lofotr Viking Museum in Bøstad, Lofoten, offers a captivating journey back in time to the Viking Age. The museum features a reconstructed boathouse for longships, a blacksmith’s workshop, and a primitive ironworks, providing visitors with a vivid picture of Viking craftsmanship. Information boards throughout the site enhance the experience, offering insights into the era’s daily life and practices.
From May to September, a Viking ship is moored at the quayside, and guests can board the ship, with the opportunity to try sailing or rowing. Additionally, from June to August, visitors can participate in a variety of activities, such as axe-throwing, archery, and riding Nordland horses (for children). The museum is set in a scenic location, and a walk from the Chieftain’s House to the Viking Ship Harbour, about 1.4 km, offers beautiful spots for photography along the way.
