To reach the trail, you ride a funicular train, then cable car up the mountain. At the top, you’ll find a nice viewpoint over the cliffs, a restaurant, toilets, and the start of the trail.
The first part of the trail wanders through an alpine flower garden along the cliffs, with info about each flower. Then you loop around the plateau, getting different views of the mountains, cliffs, and bright blue lake below.
The trail is not difficult, more of a stroll. There are cliffs on the sides and no barriers, so you need to be careful with children.
For a longer hike, add on the hike down from Chäserrugg to Gämseralp, a really beautiful hike and not very difficult.
