Point Reyes Lighthouse, located at the western-most end of the Point Reyes Headlands, offers a beautiful maritime landscape. It is an ideal location for visitors to immerse themselves in a historic experience and observe natural beauty. On their journey to the lighthouse, visitors can take the slow winding drive along Sir Francis Drake Boulevard and pass through ranches or opt for a twenty-minute walk from the designated parking lot. At the end of the road, they are warmly welcomed by a brief history of the 105 year old structure and scenic view of the ocean. After exploring the observation deck and visitor center, adventurers are encouraged to go around the grounds with caution as the lighthouse stands on 313 steps and surrounded with thick fog and wind. Pets must remain on leash while in the area and trails should only be taken that are specified by staff. With its tranquil charm, the spot attracts nature enthusiasts, photographers and explorers from near and far.
