Mission Peak Regional Preserve is a well-loved Park located in in Fremont, California. It features the well known Mission and Monument Peaks, which form a dramatic backdrop to the South Bay. The Peak Trail from Ohlone College is an enjoyable but challenging hike to the summit that passes through shaded woodlands and open grasslands. Hiking here is a popular activity and when visitors reach the top, they are rewarded with stunning views of Mount Hamilton to the south, the Santa Cruz Mountains to the west, Mt. Tamalpais to the north, and Mt. Diablo and the Sierra Nevada to the northeast. Furthermore, the Stanford Avenue staging area is also western access to the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, a 29-mile hiking and riding trail through some of southern Alameda County's most beautiful wilderness.
