Shukubo Komadori-Sanso on Mount Mitake is one of my top recommendations for anyone visiting the area. I've stayed there multiple times, and it never disappoints. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, offering a variety of types to suit different preferences. One of the best parts for foreigners is that the owner speaks English, which makes the experience much more accessible for non-Japanese speakers.
The traditional Japanese bath, made from fragrant cypress wood, and private. The atmosphere at Komadori-Sanso is serene, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, making it an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. The proximity to Mitake Shrine is another bonus, allowing for easy exploration of the area’s spiritual and natural beauty.
