Nakanoyu Onsen Ryokan in Nagano is a perfect spot for hikers or anyone wanting easy winter access to Kamikochi. Just outside Kamikochi, this ryokan sits at the base of Mt. Yakedake, making it an ideal starting point for hiking the volcano. During our stay, we saw many monkeys hanging around on the roof, adding a unique charm to the mountain atmosphere.

The ryokan offers a convenient shuttle to the tunnel entrance leading into Kamikochi, especially helpful during the winter when standard routes are closed.
