You can access this area via Kita-Yatsugatake Ropeway so it's family-friendly and beginner-friendly. From the ropeway's summit station, there is a walking trail that takes about 30 minutes to complete. Along this trail, you can find a variety of alpine plants growing naturally, allowing you to easily enjoy the beauty of the alpine environment by simply taking the ropeway.
In the winter, it’s a snow resort, but what’s great is you can rent snowshoe gear and head out on these incredible snowshoe trails. There are options for everyone—whether you’re looking for a quick 1-hour adventure or you’re ready to commit to a few hours out in the snowy landscape.
I've also been up here in the summer, and it’s equally stunning. The trails transform into lush, green hiking paths. Like in winter, there are hikes that take just an hour if you're short on time, or you can spend several hours exploring the mountains.
