I was just driving along when I stumbled upon this lookout—and I’m so glad I stopped. The view here is absolutely breathtaking, overlooking Japan’s largest grassland and vast rice paddies. At 936 meters up, visitors can take in the stunning panorama of Mt. Aso’s five peaks and the majestic Kuju Mountains.
Daikanbo viewing point also features a souvenir shop and restaurant, and it’s a favorite spot for stargazing at night.
