Hands down my most recommended hotel in Akan.
During my trip to Hokkaido, I had the pleasure of staying at Akan Yuku no Sato Tsuruga, and it turned out to be one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had, not just in Hokkaido, but in all of Japan. We opted for a room with a lake view, which cost us 25,000 yen each and included two meals. The meals were a highlight—both dinner and breakfast featured all-you-can-eat fresh seafood sourced from across Hokkaido. The quality and variety of the dishes were simply outstanding.
The hotel itself was beautifully designed, with a perfect blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and modern comforts. The ambiance was serene, making it an ideal place to unwind. One thing to note, though, is that the parking is a bit of a walk from the hotel entrance, so be prepared for that.
About:
Akan Yuku no Sato Tsuruga is more than just a place to stay; it’s an experience. The onsen ryokan offers a range of themed rooms, including the elegant Bekkan MIYABI and the charming Honkan KOMOREBI, each offering stunning views of Lake Akan. The hot springs, delicious local cuisine, and various activities make it a perfect retreat in the heart of Hokkaido’s forests and lakes. My stay here was truly unforgettable, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
