Although this is technically a loop trail, I recommend you do it as an out and back. The fastest way to the viewpoint is to head right when you hit the split. You can do the whole loop but there really isn't much to see on the other section.

The parking lot for this hike is rather large, but if you're visiting during peak season like fall you will want to try to get there early. This hike is best for sunset, but we did a sunrise hike based on our schedule. I would love to come back and see it for sunset during a weekday so if you have the chance to, I would suggest doing it this way.

The hike there is consistently uphill, but not too demanding. If you do just the out and back you will cut a little bit of mileage off the hike as well. The main view of this hike is of Looking Glass Rock which is right next door.
