While the ropeway is convenient, there’s also a forest trail right alongside it that takes about 60 minutes to hike. I highly recommend getting a one-way ropeway ticket, either up or down, so you can enjoy the peaceful walk through the forest on the other leg of your journey.

The Shosenkyo Ropeway offers a quick 5-minute cable car ride to a viewing platform with a panoramic view of Mount Fuji. Near the platform, visitors can pray for marriage at Yakumo Shrine, recognizable by its vibrant green roof and red and white exterior. For a bit of fun, there’s a "bell throwing space" where, for ¥100, you can toss a "fortune bell" into a heart-shaped hole to make a wish.

A short 15-minute hiking trail leads to Yasaburo-dake peak, a spiritual "power spot" with 360° views of Mount Fuji and the Southern Alps. The peak is believed to channel energy from Mount Fuji, making it a place to feel in tune with nature. Nearby, there’s a small shrine dedicated to Wago Gongen, a deity for prayers related to children, marriage, and prosperity, as well as a shrine to Yasaburo Gongen, the god of sake. Visitors can purchase the well-known "Yasaburo-dake" sake from the cable car station's souvenir shop.
