It’s no surprise that Saxhóll crater is popular, especially because it’s easy to hike and the views are spectacular.
One of the things that makes Saxholl Crater so special is its unique shape and size. The crater rises up from the surrounding landscape like a massive black cone, creating a stark contrast with the surrounding greenery. The hike to the top of the crater is also incredibly scenic, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape and coastline.
Another great thing about visiting Saxholl Crater is that it's a relatively easy hike, suitable for travelers of all ages and fitness levels. The trail is well-marked and takes about 15-20 minutes to hike to the top of the crater. There are man-made stairs that take you up to the crater, which means that people of all ages with little to no hiking experience can enjoy this too. Once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and coastline.
Fun fact – There are two craters here, but most people only go to the top of the first one because it is closer.
