The Eiger Express is a large cable car traveling from Grindelwald Terminal to Eigergletscher.

This cable car is mostly used for those traveling to the Jungfraujoch, making this a much quicker journey than the previous route via mountain train to Kleine Scheidegg.

You can also use this cable car to access the Eiger Trail and Eiger Walk down to Kleine Scheidegg.

There are 44 cabins that run continuously throughout the day, fitting 26 people per cabin. The ride is 15 mins. No 1st class, no reservations.

How to get there

By public transport: Take a train to Grindelwald Terminal. Exit the train and walk about 2 min walk through the station to the cable car entrance.

By car: Drive to Grindelwald and follow signs to Grindelwald Terminal. There is a large parking garage attached to the cable car station. You get a ticket and pay when you leave.

Tickets

You can purchase tickets online or at the Grindelwald Terminal station from machines or staffed ticket desk.

Tickets do not sell out and you can buy them immediately before your journey.

The Eiger Express is free with the Jungfrau Travel Pass. Discounted with Swiss Travel Pass Swiss Half Fare Card, Berner Oberland Pass, and GA.
