DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS DRIVE WITHOUT 4x4. Prior to leaving, I would recommend airing down your tires to 12-20 PSI depending on condition of sand -- remember -- soft sand requires soft tires. We usually start down around 18 and find that's usually okay unless its really deep (think Red Canyon/Peekaboo in Kanab). The sand on the drive here is deepest in the summer and seems to be more packed in the winter.
There are two ways to approach the Great Chamber -- both involve BLM 100. We approached from the east via Johnson Canyon. My entire track starting from highway 89 can be found here: Standard Approach to Great Chamber
The other approach is slightly more difficult in regards to sand and it approaches from the west, also on BLM 100 that starts behind Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. If approaching from the West, you can follow this route that I've drawn on Gaia: West Approach to Great Chamber
Once you arrive to the trailhead, you will see a trail off to the right that will lead you up to the alcove. You will be able to see your destination and make your way there.
Want to take a tour and not worry about the driving? I've linked them -- We've utilized them before and had a wonderful time!
