Spending a day on the wine tram is so much fun! You can pick on of their multiple routes (the have 5 lines to choose from) and then just hop on and off at different wineries as you please.
If you ask me, I would probably pick the orange line if you want to taste different Western Cape Wines but also want to stroll through the vineyards for a little bit and just soak in the atmosphere. Both Boschendal and Babylonstoren are great for just wandering around. At Vrede en Lust, you can to chocolate or cheese pairings with amazing views of the mountains (please bre-book)
If you are more into the MCCs, the Western Cape sparkling wines, I would recommend you take the red line. Both Le Lude and Haute Cabrière are famous for their sparkling wines and at Grande Provence you can even do an MCC & Oyster Pairing for the ultimate luxury experience.
(In all honesty: You will probably only go 1 or 2 stops on an actual tram, the rest of the route is actually done in a double decker bus – but that doesn't take away from the fun at all. Just managing expectations here because I myself expected a tram to drive us all the way☺️)
