Sumiyoshi Taisha is a must-visit spot for locals and tourists alike. It is an ancient Shinto shrine located in the southern part of Osaka, with over 1800 years of history. Its unique architecture, considered as a National Treasure, is a style called Sumiyoshi-zukuri. It has many symbolic attractions such as the Sorihashi aka "Taiko-bashi" bridge, the main shrine which houses four buildings dedicated to deities, a Maneki Neko of a particular style, a stone believed to be lighter when carried twice to make wishes come true, and more. The two captivating annual events that attract millions of visitors, the New Year's Eve celebration and the Sumiyoshi Matsuri from July 30th to August 1st, make it an even more magical site! Take some time to explore this incredible area, and immerse yourself in its rich atmosphere.
