Emerald Lake is a stunning freshwater lake located in Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada. It was first discovered by Canadian guide Tom Wilson in 1882 who was surprised by the remarkable color of the water due to its high mineral content, which produces an emerald green hue that captures the blue-green spectrum of sunlight. Visitors to Emerald Lake can explore the 5.2 km hiking trail around the lake, as well as rent canoes during the summer months and enjoy beautiful views of the President Range, Mount Burgess and Wapta Mountain. The region is also home to many wild animals such as grizzly bears and bighorn sheep, which are protected under Park Law. With its tranquil beauty and abundance of wildlife, Emerald Lake is a must-see for nature lovers.
