Parco Scherrer is a lush and enchanting park in Morcote, Switzerland. Often referred to as the "Garden of Wonders," this park is a hidden gem that offers you a peaceful retreat and a journey through different cultures and epochs.

Parco Scherrer was created by Hermann Arthur Scherrer, a wealthy textile merchant and passionate art collector, in the early 20th century. Scherrer was inspired by his travels around the world, and he sought to bring elements of the diverse cultures he encountered back to Morcote. The result is a garden that blends the exotic with the local, creating a space that is both tranquil and inspiring.

Opening Hours: The park is typically open from March to November, with specific hours varying by season. It's always a good idea to check the latest opening times before planning your visit.

March and November: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

April to October: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Entry fee: 10 CHF per adult.

🌴The park is divided into several themed sections, each representing different cultures and architectural styles:

Egyptian influence : The garden features an Egyptian temple with statues and obelisks, evoking the grandeur of ancient Egypt.

Greek and Roman influence : You'll find classical sculptures and columns reminiscent of ancient Greece and Rome, set amidst carefully manicured gardens.

Asian Influence: There is a section with Asian-inspired pavilions, including a Buddhist temple and a Japanese tea house, reflecting Scherrer's fascination with the East.

Mediterranean influence : The Mediterranean influence is seen in the terraced gardens, with cypress trees, olive groves, and statues that evoke the spirit of the Italian Renaissance.
