PS PR 3 - Levada do Pico do Castelo is a 4.1 km hiking trail on Porto Santo Island, originally built for agricultural purposes in the 20th century. The route offers hikers a chance to explore typical Porto Santo landscapes, with a moderate difficulty level and a duration of about 1:30 hours. Along the way, you’ll encounter unique flora, including heather and poplars, and enjoy stunning views of the coastline and the Ilhéu de Baixo islet. Don’t miss the Nossa Senhora da Graça Chapel at the end of the trail, built in the 1930s.

The trail is relatively easy, and you can hike it as a round trip, which will total just over 8 kilometers. However, at the time I visited Porto Santo, this trail was officially closed, so I didn’t get the chance to hike it. By the time of your visit, it may reopen, so make sure to check the official information on the website to confirm its status.
