This cable car takes five mins to ascent 947m from the Wengen village to the Männlichen viewpoint at 2,343m.
At the top, you'll find restaurants, playground, and the start of nice hikes like the Royal Walk, Panorama Trail to Kleine Scheidegg, and Lieselotte activity trail for kids.
Location: cable car station at Wengiboden 1350f, next to Wengen tourism office, 1 min walk from Wengen train station
Open: summer season is late May to late October. Then closed for a few weeks in November. Check current schedule and status.
Timetable: every 20 mins, fits 75 people
You can purchase tickets on the SBB Mobile App (easiest), Männlichen website, and ticket office at the cable car station.
If you are hiking, check out the combo "Rundfahrten/Tour" tickets that include one way on the Männlichen cable car and one way on a different mountain railway for the end of the hike.
If you are unsure, go to the ticket office and explain what you want to do and they will sell you the correct ticket.
Tickets can be bought immediately before your journey and do not sell out. You cannot reserve a time slot - first come, first served (except for the Royal Ride below).
You can pay a bit extra to ride on top of the cable car in a safely fenced open-air balcony. You need to book the Royal Ride in advance for a specific day and time slot. You pay separately for each direction.
Note: The Royal Ride is only available during summer season, from late May to late October.

Ride a train to Lauterbrunnen. Then transfer to the yellow Wengeralpbahn train at the same station. Ride to Wengen (12 mins). Short walk to cable car station in Wengen.

🚗 By car:
Drive to Lauterbrunnen. Just before you enter the village, there are signs directing you to a large parking garage behind the train station (see on map).
Short walk to Lauterbrunnen train station. Ride yellow Wengernalpbahn train up to Wengen. Then short walk to cable car station.
