This is our favorite trail near Montreux for the wild narcissus flowers, with a huge flower field with view of Lac Leman and the surrounding mountains. But it's not well marked or signed. You will need to have the trail map on your phone to figure it out.

Location: Montreux train station - ride mountain train to Haut-de-caux stop.

In Haut-de-Caux, you will see some signs for the Sentier des Narcisses, but there are a few different trails and not well marked. You are hiking to "de Nermont" field, which is labeled #5 on the map on-site.

Start by following the paved road through the forest, direction "route de Jaman". After about 30 mins, you fork left onto a footpath through some fields, leading to the narcissus fields.

Stay on the footpath as you walk through the flower fields. They are protected flower and should not be disturbed. Do not jump fences or walk off the path into the fields.

Return options

For an easier, shorter day, you can walk back the way you came and ride the train down from Haut-de-Caux.

For a longer hike, hike down through the flower fields. Then follow signs to Glion (use my trail map above to navigate), where you can catch the mountain train down to Montreux. This version has a lovely section through a forested river gorge.

💡TIP: You can optionally start your day by riding the train to the Rochers de Naye mountain viewpoint high above Montreux. Then on your way back down, get off at the Haut-de-Caux stop for the hike.
