The Rigi "Felsenweg" is a path cut into the side of the mountain with spectacular views of Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps.

The cliff walk is about 750m long, with several benches along way so you can lounge and enjoy the view.

The path is a little bumpy but easy to walk and safe, with a fence on the cliff side, suitable for all ages. However it's not accessible for strollers or wheelchairs as the path is too narrow.

How to get there

The cliff walk is located on the Rigi mountain, about a 15 min walk from Rigi Kaltbad-First, an alpine village halfway up the mountain.

For most visitors, you will likely first visit the Rigi Kulm viewpoint higher up the mountain. Then you have two options:

A: Hike down the Rigi Panorama Trail to the cliff walk entrance at Rigi First, about 90 mins of walking.

B: Ride Rigi mountain train down to the Rigi Kaltbad-First station. Then walk about 15 mins on a wide, flat path to the cliff walk entrance.

Costs

The cliff walk does not cost extra to visit. But you do need to ride up the mountain on a cogwheel train to get there. So you would need a ticket for the Rigi mountain train.

This train ticket costs about CHF 58 - 78 round trip depending on how far up the mountain you want to ride.

The train is free with the Swiss Travel Pass, Lucerne Tell Pass, and SBB Day Passes. Discounted with Swiss Half Fare Card.
