This super long coaster is one of our absolute favorites in Switzerland, a treat for all ages! It's
Length: 2000 m
Style: double rail track
Location: Tannenboden, southeast of Zürich – see on map
Website: www.flumserberg.ch
We typically do the Flumserberg Four Peak trail first, ending our hike at the coaster. Then an exciting ride down the rest of the mountain. It's a great reward for the kids, keeping them motivated on the trail.
If you prefer not to hike, you can pay for a chair lift ride to the top of the coaster.
In 2024, a single ride costs CHF 14.50 without lift (hike to the coaster) or CHF 22.50 with the chair lift. Discounts on the chair lift for children, Swiss Travel Pass, GA and Half Fare Travelcards.
With the Early Bird Offer, you can buy a 2 hour pass for unlimited rides on the chair lift and coaster between 10:00 to 12:00.
This coaster is located at the Flumserberg mountain resort south of Zurich, near the Tannenboden parking.
If you are coming by public transport, take a train to Unterterzen. Then walk through the tunnel to the Flumserberg gondola station and ride up to Tannenboden. You can buy a ticket on the SBB Mobile that includes this gondola ride.
Once a Tannenboden, you can ride the Tannenboden-Chrüz chair lift to reach the coaster. Or you can hike there. Buy the appropriate tickets at the ticket office next to the parking.
Note that this is not close the CLiiBMER ropes park, which down the road at the Tannenheim-Prodalp gondola.
The line for the coaster is sometimes quite long, but always worth it. ye yourself in line behind teens, not a grandma or adult with a toddler. When it’s your turn to get on the sled, make up whatever excuse to delay getting on the sled, creating as much space as possible between you and the person in front of you.
See our post about a weekend in Heidiland, including the Floomzer ride.
