Seceda is one of the most breath-taking ridgelines in Dolomites. It's sharp shape will blow your mind. Good thing is that you can visit this place even if you're too lazy to hike. Or if you've hiked too much on the previous days.

Hike description It is possible to take cable cars all the way to the top. Your trip starts at Ortisei cable car. You need to take 2 cable cars between Ortisei - Furnes - Seceda. Round ticket costs 35€ for adult. Parking at Ortisei costs 8€/day. You will get almost to the top of Seceda. Then it's up to you if you only want to take a look, few photos and go or if you want to do a round hike up there.

If you want to hike, you can do so starting at Col Raiser cable car. The hike takes 3.5 hours one way. We made it a bit easier for ourselves and we took the cable car to Col Raiser hut. The price is 25€ for return trip. It will save you 1.5 hour of hiking and 600m incline. Check the most recent information about Col Raiser here.

This is the path we suggest from Col Raiser: Almhotel Col Raiser – Fermeda Hutte – Baita Daniel – Mastle – Rifugio Sofie – Rifugio Seceda – Seceda – Malga Troier – Malga Pieralongia – Almhotel Col Raiser

This round takes 3-4 hours with photostops.

Our tips In case you want to capture sunrise or sunset it's easier if you stay in the area. You should also check whether you can wild camp there, it might be worth it. Otherwise it's a long way up/down so you would either have to start really early or come back very late.

NOTE: It is also possible to reach Alpe di Siusi directly from Ortisei/Sankt Ulrich (in Seceda area) via cable car. For recent opening hours and prices check this website. This cable car takes you directly to Hotel Sonne. This is the area of Alpe di Siusi that offers the best views of famous Langkofel. It's a good option if you're short on time and still want to explore Alpe di Siusi.

Where to stay Seceda is surrounded by spacious Alpine meadows. There's so many mountain huts where you can stay! Either a private little hut for couple and families or shared options for budget travelers. You can book a stay at Rifugio Fermeda in advance.

Other places in the area: Low budget: Smart Hotel Saslong Mid budget: Hotel Hell

Facilities There are plenty mountain huts in the area. You don't have to worry about getting food or water.
