Lago Limides is situated at an elevation of 2,000 meters and is surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Dolomites. It is a very popular destination among tourists, nature lovers, photographers and families. If the weather is good, you might capture mesmerizing reflections of surrounding peaks on the lake's surface.

Hike Description You will reach Lago Limides in around 20 minutes from the parking lot at Passo Falzarego. There's one path leading directly form the parking lot at Passo Falzarego mountain hut. You will need to go a bit off the trail to get to the lake itself. Just follow maps.me offline map and you will find your way.

You can (and SHOULD!!) combine this hike with a hike to Cinque Torri. It is a longer way but so worth it! We did this hike and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The path starts at Passo Falzarego, passes Lago Limides, goes under Nuvolau, and continues all the way to Rifugio Averau and Cinque Torri. It's loop hike which means you don't pass the same trail twice.

Parking You can park at Rifugio Col Galina or Passo Falzarego. Both are free.

Our tips Come for the sunrise! It's only a short walk and the views are worth it! Combine this hike with Rifugio Averau and Cinque Torri. The trail passing Lago Limides was certainly one of the best hikes we did in Dolomites. And it's not too crowded.

Where to stay Passo Falzarego parking is amazing spot for camping! It is free and the views are stunning! In case you prefer a hotel or a mountain huts there is plenty of them around Passo Falzarego.

Facilities available On the path leading to Lago Limides or at the lake there is no food or drinking water available. The hike there is very short though. So you might get your snack on the main road at Passo Falzarego.
