El Draguillo is a very little canarian village hidden in mountains of Anaga. Our hike started from Benijo, just behind restaurant El Frontón starts the path over the mountains. Btw. the beach El Benijo provides a unique escape with its picturesque dark sand, rocks and crystal-clear waters. It´s a wild beach with strong waves where is recommended to stay away from deep water. Lifeguards are present over the summer. So when you finish that hike, you can refresh yourself in the ocean.

The beginning of the trail is more difficult because it goes up steeply. Once you get to the top it continues at more or less the same altitude so its more relaxed. Be careful on the way because the road sometimes leads to the foot of the mountains, but you can enjoy views of the ocean, cliffs and picturesque village of Almaciga (surfer beach nearby). To get to the village El Draguillo you have to go down the path and you can return to the place where you left your car by following the path along the coast. You can also get back the same way over the mountains but its more enjoyable do the circle trail.

TIPS:

• Rent a car for this trip - it´s 1,5 h drive from the south.

• I recommend using sunscreen (even if it's cloudy here, it tans) and of course headgear and trekking boots.

• Don't forget water and some snacks
