Situated at the foot of Castle Street in the village of Glenarm is where you will find this beautiful gateway, it is the entrance to Glenarm Castle. It is built just like a miniature medieval castle' with gothic windows and a stone turret staircase, beautifully located by the Glenarm River in one of Ulster's oldest villages.

The Barbican at Glenarm is an idyllic and romantic getaway set in the picturesque fishing village of Glenarm. You enter by a bridge over the Glenarm river, the Barbican comprises a three storey block with a roof terrace, with a picnic bench which affords significant views over the surrounding countryside.

You can escape into the past and stay at this magical miniature castle surrounded by the beauty of nature. Restored to its original 1825 state, The Barbican boasts a unique character that captivates you from the moment you see it.

The luxury of the accommodation, such as the double bedroom with a deep roll-top bath tub makes it a perfect, relaxing stay for couples looking for a peaceful retreat.

You can of course just stop to admire and take some photos without actually staying here.

📌Top travel tips:

Be sure to take time to explore the beautiful Glenarm castle farmshop! Enjoy some coffee & cake in their beautiful tearooms. Both offer delicious local produce.
