During my visit to Suntory Tomi no Oka Winery, I had the pleasure of exploring the vineyard with a free tour, which included tastings of their exquisite wines. The winery is located in the beautiful Kofu Basin, and the views from the orchard and terrace were absolutely stunning, with Mt. Fuji visible in the distance—a truly memorable sight.
Getting there was convenient, as there is bus access to the location. I was also impressed by the selection of local Yamanashi wines made from grapes grown right there in the region. The winery has a long history, dating back to 1909, and has been known as Suntory Tomi no Oka Winery since 2001. They have Japan's largest private vineyard and are dedicated to producing wines that reflect the beauty of the hills and the abundant sunshine that blesses the area.
It was a wonderful experience, blending the region's natural beauty with the rich tradition of Japanese winemaking.
