Lamarck-Caulaincourt Station is an exciting stop on Paris' Metro Line 12. Located in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, it runs beneath Rue de la Fontaine du But and takes its name from two streets, Rue Lamarck and Rue Caulaincourt. It was opened in October 1912 as part of a northward extension from Pigalle to Jules Joffrin. Its eye-catching single entrance is surrounded by an impressive stairwell which leads to platforms 25 meters below. The picturesque station has been seen in many movies, most notably in the classic French film "Amélie" where it represented a transcendent experience for a blind man.
